This is my first attempt at digital inking, and i must say that the process took me a while. I think one of my problems was getting the line work to a level i could live with. In the end i figured out how to mess with the pressure sensors on my wacom tablet so i was able to come up with this result.
Anyhow this is a Caricature of my friend Ryan. Great guy with a huge heart, one of my best friends. This is his photo blog. Check it out you might actually like it!
Here is the prelim sketch also

Hey everyone man has it been a busy weekend I just finished two live caricature gigs and it has wiped me out. I did learn that drawing dog caricatures is not fun endeavor. They never stop moving and they are so loud. Anyhow to clear my head after that fun adventure I started a digital painting of the past sketch.

Kosart
Sorry for the lack of posts. I have been currently busy with side projects and my non-art related job. Happily everything is slowing down, so I should be posting a lot of work soon. Here is a quick sketch I did of a fellow artist Anthony Kosar, He is one of the most talented individuals I have ever met, and have had the privilege to spend 4 years of college learning from and with him. Hope you enjoy it.

This is a caricature of a Caribou Coffee worker. I have been asked to do about 10 of these for the store. To be displayed for the employee of the month. Its free work due to all the friends i have there, but i get a place to display other artwork i have and all the free coffee i want. so it worked out. I will post the pictures i used as references with the drawings when i am fully finished

A quick Break
Yes I know this is not a caricature. I had to take a quick mental break at 12am today. I though this would be a great way to relax a little. So inspired by Marco Bucci I decided to try my hand at a landscape. It ended up being a little bit harder then i though since I wasn't working from any references and just throwing different shapes on the canvas for about 30 min. before i figured out the composition. Overall I think I spent maybe 2 hours on it in photo shop. It turned out ok it doesn't read as well i wish it would. I might go back and work on it more at a later date.

Dean
I did this drawing today while enjoying my Sinus infection. being sick sucks but it gives you a lot of free time. I though doing a celeb would be a good change of pace so i picked Dean Martin. Ironically i have never actually listened to Dean Martin till today. Sure i liked Frankie but never actually took the time to listen to Dean. I have to say he has a great voice.

a quick digital painting i decided to do about 20 min ago. I was so frustrated with the idea of actually using color. I hate color it has always confused me. Sure i could paint it if there was a reference but its use within my mind was limited. But i decided to jump in, and this is what i got. It somewhat interesting not very developed but hey it could be worse. Hopefully soon i will be able to produce something im happy with.

Sketch o matic
One thing i love about being an artist is sketching. I think it just the best way to express myself. Or at least be interesting. Most if not all artist say keeping a sketch book is one of the most important things you can do. If you have an idea just jot it down in the book. If you have a image draw it as fast as your memory would allow. It just a handy thing to have. The artist Joe Bluhm who I idolize even published his. http://www.joebluhm.blogspot.com/ here is his blog check it out.

Sketch
Up top is a revised edition of the life drawing below. I put about another hour or so into it. I had so anatomy issues and wanted to change some values around. To the left i did a caricature of my pasture Byron Barkules. I'm going to start a caricature of him and his wife soon possibly in water color. Hopefully i will finish that soon so i can post it up.
